I've been reflecting on the Future London Academy MBA graduation event a few weeks back....One of the things you couldn't avoid was how much the cohort had bonded and learned from each other.It was the common thread among all the graduates that I spoke to...."The course has been great and the experience shared by all the expert speakers was invaluable but the connections made and the peer to peer learning opportunities were a true highlight." ....As one of the guest speakers on the course, it would be foolish of me to take this to heart. Afterall I'm an advocate of leading beyond hierarchy and this means providing space for peer to peer connections throughout all areas of business (and learning!)As a senior leader in the travel industry, it was one of the most effective tools I used...... creating space for peer groups to come together and learn had real impact on various results.And as a coach and facilitator supporting purpose driven businesses, peer to peer learning has been one of my go-to mechanisms for connection and change.As a leader, if you are central to all the learning and meeting points that your teams have, you are missing a huge opportunity.You don't have to control the space.
